The experience

What happens at the table

A guided tasting of 5 teas. Each cup is brewed in front of you, tasted twice, and talked about without a lecture. The afternoon is hosted by Leaf House with Maison du Thé. Yatu sets the pairing.

  1. OriginsWhere the leaf was grown, and why that place tastes the way it does.
  2. The brewWater, vessel, and time. Then a second infusion, which is often the truer cup.
  3. The pairingA light plate with Yatu, chosen to sit beside the teas rather than cover them.
  4. The roomA small table. The point is the conversation that starts once the cups are poured.
Replace: porcelain cups in a row, linen, no people.

Teas on the card

01

Ketepa Purple

Nandi Hills, Kenya

Violet leaf, orchid and ripe berry. Brewed light, so the colour stays in the cup.

02

Ketepa Gold

Kericho, Kenya

Bright and honeyed, with blackcurrant leaf. The classic cup of the highlands.

03

Satemwa Antler

Thyolo, Malawi

Cocoa husk, malt and a clean finish from the escarpment next door.

04

Silver Needle

Fujian, China

Downy white buds. Steamed pear, hay and a quiet sweetness.

05

Jasmine Dragon Pearl

Fuding, China

Hand-rolled pearls that open in the glass. Fresh jasmine, never perfume.

Ketepa

Ketepa is in the flight. The 14 November ticket itself carries Maison du Thé, Yatu, and Leaf House.

Why a tasting

Tea is a way of sitting with people

A tasting is not a drink with a programme attached. It is a ritual with a beginning, a middle, and enough quiet to notice what is in the cup. You learn a little about craft. You talk more than you expected.

Lusaka already knows how to gather. What it has not had is a room that takes tea this seriously, and this gently. The Art of Tea is that room: floral, unhurried, and limited to the seats at the table.

How do I pay?

Reserve on this site, then send K450 per seat by Airtel Money to Amanda 0971 773 349 or Kapambwe 0972 455 348. Use your ticket code as the reference. Leaf House confirms it by hand, and your ticket page follows by WhatsApp or by email if you left one.

Can I get a refund?

Ask before the afternoon, by WhatsApp, and we will refund the seat if we can fill it or if the event cannot go ahead. Unpaid reservations simply expire after 48 hours.

When should I arrive?

Be in the room for 13:30. Bring the ticket page on your phone, or the ticket code. The door scans the QR once.

Is there parking?

Parking is confirmed with the venue address. We will include it in the WhatsApp note the day before.

What if I have a dietary note?

Tell us by WhatsApp when you reserve. The pairing can be adjusted. The teas themselves are plain leaf.
